Alejandra Ortiz-Ayala is a PhD. Student at the National Centre of Peace and Conflict studies working on the role of the state security sector on the perpetuation of political violence in post-peace agreements societies. She holds a Master on Political Science with minors in Comparative Politics and Political Theory. Prior to starts her PhD journey, she spent years in Colombia where she worked as a Lecturer, Research Assitant and Consultant. In the last year, worked as a consultant for the Colombian Army and The National Center for Historical Memory's (NCHM) in topics such as Transitional Justice, Memory, and Security Sector Reform. Her academic research is concentrated on the overall goal of preventing violence.
